For the thirteenth time, a team from the University of Bern participated in the prestigious "Willem C. Vis Moot Court in International Commercial Arbitration" in Vienna. Previously, the team was able to defeat the team from Moscow's Lomonosov University at the Fox Williams Pre-Moot in London.
In Vienna, the team reached the knockout round of the top 64 teams in the "General Rounds" with 372 competing universities, where they were able to defeat the team from the Australian Catholic University in Sydney and thus reached the round of the best 32 teams. After a thrilling negotiation against their final opponent in the London competition, the Lomonosov University, this round was decided in favor of the Russians. However, making it to the round of the final 32 is a great success and it is only the second time that the University of Bern has made it to the oral finals since 2016.
The excellent oral result was topped off by winning an Honorable Mention for the team's statement of claim, an honor that is awarded to less than ten percent of all participating universities.
